Two female drug peddlers held with ganja, cash

JAMMU, May 17: Bahu Fort Police today arrested two female drug peddlers with 4 kg of ganja and a cash amount of Rs 4,49,000.
“The accused identified as Poopy wife of Madan and Asha wife of late Rocky, both residents of Rajeev Nagar (Narwal, Jammu) were apprehended during naka checking at Rajeev Nagar (Narwal),” a police spokesperson said.
He said the arrest and recovery was made by a team of Police Post Narwal led by Incharge Police Post Narwal SI Achal Rana under the supervision of SHO Police Station Bahu Fort. “In this regard, a case FIR number 135/22 u/s 8/20/27/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and the accused got arrested,” he added.
The spokesperson further informed that the accused namely Poppy was already wanted in case FIR number 56/2021 u/s 8/20/29 IPC. Further investigation of the case is going on, he added.
