Two held for black marketing of Govt ration, kerosene

KARGIL, June 25: Two persons have been arrested by Kargil police for black marketing of Government ration, kerosene oil and diesel.
“During the intervening night of June 24 and 25, a team of police station Kargil led by Inspector Manzoor Hussain (SHO Police Station Kargil) conducted raid at Joinery/bandsaw situated at main chowk Gundmangalpore, owned by Mohammad Hadi and on search recovered more than 150 bags of FCI rice weighing 50 Kg per bag meant for poor people, 8 barrel of diesel and 3 barrels of Kerosene oil, which were concealed in an iron shed,” police sources said.
They said the recovered ration, diesel and kerosene were seized and a Mahindra 207 vehicle used for transportation of the recovered ration was also seized. “In this connection, a case FIR Number 53/2022 under Section 409, 411 IPC was registered at police station Kargil against the accused Mohd Hadi son of Haji Mohd Hussain of Stikchey and Mohd Hussain son of Mohammad of Gund.
Initial investigation revealed that the recovered ration bags of rice were purchased from Mohammad, an employee of FCI Store Gund-Mangalpore and Mohd Bashir, Storekeeper of CAPD Store Kargil on low rate in order to sell the same in open market on higher price whereas the seized diesel barrels were purchased from a shop of Mohd Amin son of Mohd Abdullah of Kurbathang Kurbathang located at roadside of Kubarthang near the Army Depot, to supply the same to Indian Army.
Further investigation are going on and more arrests are expected in the instant case. The whole action was conducted under the supervision of Ch Iftikhar Ahmed Additional SP Kargil and close guidance of Anayat Ali Chowdhary, Superintendent of Police Kargil.
