RAMBAN, Apr 29: Police today arrested two persons for cultivating opium/poppy illegally.
On getting specific information regarding the illegal cultivation at Kounchi, Panchal a special team led by Rouf Ahmed Khan, SHO Police Station Ramsoo rushed to the spot and arrested two persons for the illegal cultivation on their private land.
The accused persons were identified as Jasbeer Singh, son of Faqir Chand and Chaman Singh, son of Doulat Ram, both residents of Kounchi.
The entire operation was conducted in the presence of Executive Magistrate 1st Class Pogal Paristan Ukhral, S Meain.
On direction of the Executive Magistrate the illegal opium cultivation was destroyed and a case in FIR 41/2021 U/S 8/18 NDPS Act has been registered against the accused persons.
