Two held for snatching

JAMMU, Oct 17: Police in Trikuta Nagar area here claimed today that they have arrested two persons for their involvement in a snatching case.
A police spokesperson said that on October 15, 2023, one Anjali Sharma of Trikuta Nagar reported that in the evening hours, some unidentified people snatched her purse containing cash and mobile phone.
On receiving the information, he said, a case FIR number 246/2023 under relevant sections of the law was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation set into motion.
Followed by this, he said, a team of Trikuta Nagar Police Station led by SDPO South, Sachit Sharma, assisted by SHO Gandhi Nagar, Inspector Pankaj Sharma, rounded up a few suspects for questioning.
During sustained questioning, he added that one Rahul Randhawa of Valmiki Colony, was arrested, who confessed to his involvement in the crime and disclosed to the police that the purse he had stolen has been further sold to another accused namely Shiv Shankar Ram of Bihar at present Valmiki Colony.
Later, the second accused was also arrested, he further said.
On disclosure of the other accused, police have recovered the stolen purse, cash and the mobile phones, he said, adding that further investigation into the case is underway.
