SRINAGAR, May 21: Police today said two bootleggers were arrested with illicit liquor in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
A police spokesman said acting on specific information police intercepted an Eon vehicle bearing registration number JK03D-2657 at Aishmuqam in the district.
“During the search of the vehicle huge quantity of wine and beer was recovered. Two persons namely Rizwan Nazir Yatoo and Masroor Ahmad Sheikh were arrested and the vehicle was seized,” he said. The spokesman said a case under section 48 Excise Act was registered against them and investigation was taken up.
