JAMMU, Jan 4: Police in Gandhi Nagar area claimed they have arrested two persons in a firing case registered in 2023.
A police spokesperson said that a complaint was registered by one Tejinder Singh alias Aman on December 12, 2023, stating therein that one person barged forcefully into his shop at Nanak Nagar locality, and tried to kill him using a pistol he was carrying.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 305/2023 under relevant sections of the law was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar Jammu and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, he added the teams of Gandhi Nagar Police Station led by SHO concerned rounded up two individuals identified as Kuldeep Mattoo and Sonu alias Ranja both residents of Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The police spokesperson further said that during sustained questioning, the detained individuals confessed to their involvement in the crime and accordingly they were arrested and the weapon of offence, a pistol, along with a motorcycle used in the offence, was recovered on their disclosure.
Further investigation into the case is underway, he said.
