Srinagar, Dec 5: Police today said it have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered huge quantity of poppy straw from them in Kulgam district of South Kashmir.
A police spokesman said following a tip off, the police during Naka checking intercepted a Santro car bearing registration number JK03C-8799 at Frisal in Kulgam district.
“On checking of the vehicle, police recovered 37 kilograms of poppy straw. Two people who were travelling in the car were taken into custody. They were identified as Ghulam Mohammad Dass and Ghulam Nabi Dass,” he said.
The spokesman said police have registered a case FIR number 132/2016 under section 8/15 NDPS Act and investigation has been taken up,” the spokesman added.
