JAMMU, Jan 30: Police in Samba district have arrested two individuals and recovered from their possession stolen mobile phones worth Rs 1 lakh.
A police official said on January 27, a written complaint was lodged by one Nish Devi wife of Balvir Singh of Trewa, Jammu, at present Lower Jallo Chak, Bari Brahamana, Samba at Police Station Bari Brahamana regarding snatching of her mobile phone by some unknown persons.
On this, a case FIR number 13/2025 under section 304 of the BNS was registered at Police Station Bari Brahamana and investigation started, he said.
During the course of investigation, the police official said a team headed by SHO Bari Brahamana apprehended two persons identified as Nitish Kumar, a resident of near Railway Station Bari Brahamana and one juvenile, who upon sustained questioning, confessed their involvement in the instant case.
On their disclosure, seven mobile phones valuing around Rs 1 lakh were recovered from their possession, the police official said.
According to the police official, the juvenile has been lodged at observation home in RS Pura area of Jammu district and further investigation into the case is underway.
