JAMMU, Nov 30: Gandhi Nagar Police has arrested two persons in possession of 122 bottles of banned psychotropic substance.
According to a police spokesman, during naka checking near Cremation Ground at Shastri Nagar, a team of Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Pankaj Sharma rounded up two suspects namely Ajay Bharti Tangotra son of Parkash Chand of Channi Rama and Yojovinder Singh son of late Sewa Singh of Adarsh Vihar (Sainik Colony, Jammu) who were travelling on a car bearing registration number DL8CAW-9922 and a scooty bearing registration number JK02CL-1298, respectively.
“On search of their belongings, 122 bottles of banned psychotropic substance i.e. Wincirex Cough Syrup bottles containing Codeine Phosphate of 100 Ml each were recovered from them,” the spokesman said, adding, in this connection, a case FIR Number 304/2022 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and both the accused arrested.
Further investigation of the case was going on, he added.
The overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma. The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of SP South Mamta Sharma.
