RAMBAN, Dec 2: A police party from Police Station Ramsoo at a Naka point recovered two quintal and 75 kg poppy straw.
The police party was headed by Head Constable, Vijay Paul and while checking the vehicles it stopped a truck bearing Registration Number JK05G-9376 coming from Kashmir and proceeding towards Jammu found 12 bags containing 2 quintal 75 kg poppy straw like substance hidden under loaded apple boxes.
Driver of the vehicle was arrested with his helper.
The driver was identified as Tanveer Ahmed Bhat son of Manzoor Ahmed Bhat resident of Seelu Sopore, Baramulla and his helper was Sahil Nazir son of Nazir Ahmed Chopan resident of Seelu Sopore, Baramulla.
A case in FIR number 119/2022 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Ramsoo and investigation set into motion.
The overall operation was carried out by the Police party headed by Inspector Nayeem-Ul-Haq under the supervision of Nissar Ahmad Khowja SDPO Banihal with the overall supervision of SP Ramban, Mohita Sharma.
