Two held with 3.5 kg ganja, 5.8 g heroin

JAMMU, Apr 15: Jammu Police today arrested two drug peddlers with 3.5 kg of ganja and 5.80 grams of heroin from different areas on city outskirts.
“A team of Police Station Bahu Fort while on naka duty near Grand Inn Hotel rounded up a suspect identified as Narendra Sahu son of Ishwar Prasad Sahu, resident of Chattisgarh (at present living near Om Palace, Shakti Nagar Jammu) and on search recovered 3.5 kg of ganja from his possession,” a police spokesman said, adding, a case under FIR Number 123/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in this connection at Police Station Bahu Fort and the accused arrested.
He said similarly, another team of Police Station Kanachak while on naka duty near Channu Chak Ring Road rounded up a suspect identified as Aakash Verma alias Rishu son of Vijay Kumar, resident of Mishriwala (Jammu) who was coming on his vehicle bearing registration number JK02DC-3040.
“During search, 5.80 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the suspect,” the spokesman said. He said a case under FIR Number 39/2023 U/S 8/21/22/60 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kanachak and the accused got arrested.
Further investigation of the case was going on.
