Two held with 830 kg poppy husk by ANTF

JAMMU, Apr 17: In a significant breakthrough, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has arrested two hardcore drug dealers and seized 830.900 kilograms of poppy husk from their possession.
An ANTF spokesperson said that a truck (JK18A-04250) carrying consignment was seized here at Narwal and two hardcore drug dealers, identified as Nazir Qadir of Pulwama and Jaswinder Singh of Phillaur, Jalandhar, were arrested. They were booked in case FIR number 02/2023 under Sections 8/15/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu.
The ANTF team, led by Inspector Sanjeet Sharma, and guided by Shamsher Singh, DySP ANTF Jammu, under the overall supervision of Vinay Sharma, SSP ANTF J&K, has also identified the main drug receivers, Harvinder Singh Bassi and his son Digvijay Singh Bassi of Garaha Phillaur, Jalandhar, who were wanted in multiple cases of NDPS in J&K.
Meanwhile, the ANTF has urged the people, especially the youth, to stay away from drugs and to report any drug-related activities to them.
The Anti-Narcotics Task Force said that it would keep the identity of the informant or whistle-blower confidential.
“Those found in drug peddling will face strict legal action as per the law,” said a statement issued by the police force.
