JAMMU, Nov 6: Two individuals were apprehended with 51.5 grams of Charas-like-substance from Suketar area on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway today.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Jhajjar Kotli Police Station led by SDPO Nagrota, Aakash Kohli, and assisted by SHO Jhajjar Kotli, Inspector Azad Manhas, was conducting checking of vehicles at Suketar naka.
There (at the naka), he said, a motorcycle was stopped for checking. On search of the person driving the motorcycle and the pillion rider, the spokesperson said that 51.5 grams of Charas-like-substance was recovered.
Accordingly the accused identified as Harsh Sharma and Sham Lal of Garhi Malhar, Udhampur, were arrested and booked in case FIR number 248/2023 under sections 8/20/25 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and further investigation taken up.
