Two held with ganja, heroin

JAMMU, Sept 20: Narwal police today arrested two drug peddler and recovered 2 kg of ganja and 5.17 g of heroin like substance from their possession.
“During patrolling duty, PSI Sunil Singh of police post Narwal along with a police team noticed the suspicious movement of one person who was coming from Wave Mall towards Channi Rama on foot by carry bag in his hand,” a police spokesperson said, adding, on seeing the police party, the man tried to flee which created suspicion.
He said the pedestrian was chased away and over powered by the alert cops on duty. On checking of his bag, 2 kg of ganja like substance was recovered from his possession, the official said, adding the accused was identified as Dinesh Kumar Jangde son of Laxman Lal Jangde, resident of Katapali, Chattisgarh (at present living in Malik Market, Narwal, Jammu).
In this connection, a case FIR Number 308/21 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at police station Trikuta Nagar.
Meanwhile, a team of Narwal police recovered 5.17 grams of heroin from one drug peddler coming from Panama Chowk towards Narwal on a vehicle bearing registration number JK02CT-6448. The accused was identified as Ravi Kumar son of Ram Dass of Bajalta Kupper (district Jammu).
In this connection, a case FIR Number 306/2021 under section 8/21/22/25 of NDPS Act was registered at police station Trikuta Nagar and the accused was arrested. Further investigation of the case is going on.
The arrest and recovery in both cases were made by a police team led by PSI Sunil Singh of police post Narwal under the supervision of Inspector Deepak Pathania SHO Bahu Fort and Bikram Kumar (SDPO City East, Jammu).
