JAMMU, May 5: Jammu Police today arrested two drug peddlers in possession of around 7.8 gram of heroin, from different parts of the district.
“A team of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq while on naka duty near Dhinday Kalan rounded up a suspect (later identified as Suresh Kumar son of Mangal Dass, resident of Ward number 8, RS Pura, Jammu) who was going from RS Pura towards Miran Sahib and on search, recovered 4 grams of heroin from his possession,” a police spokesperson said.
He said in this regard, a case under FIR Number 92/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and the accused arrested.
Similarly, he said, at another naka laid near Tawi Bridge by a team of Police Post Sidhra led by Incharge PSI Arun Kumar, a suspect identified as Sham Din son of Mohd Hanief, resident of Batra (Jammu), who was travelling in a vehicle bearing registration number JK02AB-2869 was rounded up.
“During search, 3.80 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the accused,” the spokesperson said, adding, a case under FIR Number 195/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS was registered in this connection at Police Station Nagrota and the accused arrested.
