RAMBAN, July 4: Police here today foiled a narcotic smuggling bid in Chanderkote and arrested two peddlers with heroin like substance.
Cops from Police Station Chanderkote led by SHO Chanderkote, Inspector Jatinder Singh Rakwal intercepted a car of Alto make bearing registration number JK13D-2655 at Kunfer bypass while it was coming from Jammu side and moving towards Kashmir valley.
The driver and other person with him in the car disclosed their identity as Mehran Malik, son of Farooq Ahmed Malik, resident of Drangbal, Pampore in district Pulwama and Aqib Ganie, son of Mohd. Shafi, resident of Pantha Chowk, Srinagar.
During checking 10.75 gram heroine was recovered from dash board of the car.
A case in FIR number 101/2024 under Sections 8/21/29 NDPS was registered at Police Station Chanderkote in this regard and investigation started.
