RAMBAN, Apr 13: Police here today arrested two narcotic smugglers with 8 kg Poppy Straw.
A police team from Banihal Police Station led by SDPO Nissar Ahmed Khoja and assisted by SHO Police Station Banihal, Inspector Mohd Afzal Wani and PSI Goutam Choudhary while on checking duty at T-Chowk in Banihal stopped a truck bearing registration number JK02AH8369 coming from Srinagar and moving towards Ramban for checking and found 8 kg poppy straw in it.
In this regard, a case under relevant sections was registered at Police Station Banihal and the narco smugglers Mudasir Nabi, son of Gh. Nabi Changa, resident of Shiva road Kaboo Mohalla, Sopore Baramulla and Mehraj ud Din, son of Bashir Ahmed Khan, resident of Hanfiya Colony, Sopore Baramulla were arrested.
The entire recovery was made by police party under the command of Inspector Afzal Wani, SHO Banihal under the supervision of SDPO Banihal, Nissar Khoja with the overall supervision of SSP Ramban, Mohita Sharma.
