Two including cop of J&K police killed in road mishaps

JAMMU, Nov 14: Two persons including a cop of J&K police was killed today in two separate road mishaps in Gharota and Akhnoor area of the district.
According to a police spokesperson, Constable Anil Kumar and SPO Parveen Kumar posted at police station Gharota at about 10 in the night went to Thathi area falling under the jurisdiction of police station Gharota regarding investigations of a road accident, when while crossing the road a tipper hit them leaving them seriously injured.
Both the cops were immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Constable Anil Kumar succumbed to his injuries while the condition of Parveen Kumar was stated to be stable when the last reports came in. The body of the deceased constable has been shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for conducting postmortem tomorrow.
At Radhey Chowk in Akhnoor Tehsil, a couple was injured when a Tata Mobile hit the bike bearing registration number PB06N-3061 they were travelling on. In the mishap, both husband and wife were injured and were shifted to Sub-District Hospital, Akhnoor, where woman was declared as brought dead by the doctors. After conducting postmortem the body of the deceased lady, who has been identified as Asha Devi (35), was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites while in view of serious condition, her husband identified as Raghuveer Lal son of Mela Ram, a resident of Hamirpur, was referred to GMCH for advanced treatment.
