RAMBAN, July 23: A JCB operator and a tipper driver sustained injuries after their vehicles came under landslide and heavy rocks at a gypsum mine area here at Parlanka, Sumber in Dharamkund on Sunday afternoon. Sources informed that a landslide at the mining site of Parlanka took place when a JCB was engaged in loading gypsum in a tipper.
Police said two people sustained injuries and the tipper bearing Registration Number JK02C J-3673 came under debris and boulders.

After receiving information about the mishap the rescue teams of Police, SDRF, Army, CRPF, locals and workers of gypsum mine reached the spot and retrieved two injured persons trapped in vehicles under boulders and debris and shifted them to District Hospital Ramban.
Police identified the injured JCB machine operator as Ajiz Ahmed, son of Mohammad Sharif, resident of Bhattni, Tehsil and district Ramban and driver of tipper, Anil Singh, son of Suram, resident of Udhampur.
Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Ramban, Dr. Verender Trisal said the condition of both the injured was stable and they were responding to the treatment.
SHO Police Station Dhramkund, Inspector Manoj Kumar said after sanitizing the area with the help of the Dog Squad of CRPF, the rescue operation was called off late Sunday evening.
Meanwhile, CRPF in a statement claimed that a large portion of gypsum mine collapsed in the landslide.
Information regarding the tragedy was received by N Ranbir Singh, Commandant 84 Bn, CRPF, through Police Control Room, Ramban after which a team of CRPF personnel of 84 Bn under the command of Inspector Lalit Kumar rushed to the spot and with SDRF, JKP, Army and others carried out search and rescue operation, in which the K9 Team of 84 Bn was also pressed in to service to trace out any survivor.
The machinery and vehicles were completely mangled in the landslide.
