Two injured in clash over land dispute

JAMMU, Sept 13: A couple was injured in a clash with their relatives over some land dispute at Treva in Arnia area of RS Pura sector.
According to a police spokesperson, Bodh Raj (48) son of Punga Ram, a resident of Treva (Arnia) had some land dispute with his father and brothers and last evening a scuffle broke out between them. The scuffle soon took a violent turn and brothers and even father of the Bodh Raj attacked him and his wife, Sureshtha Devi (45), with lathies.
The injured couple was immediately rushed to a nearby Government hospital, from where today they were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, for specialized treatment.
In this connection, police has registered a case under relevant sections against five persons namely Pungo Ram, their sons-Gulshan and Ashok and daughter-in-laws-Sheetu and Rimpi.
