Two injured in road accident

KATHUA, Oct 16: Two persons were seriously injured when the scooty on which they were riding was hit by a truck at Chack Sajjan near GMC Kathua on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway today.
Both the injured were shifted to GMC Kathua. They were identified as Gagan and Tilak Raj residents of Govindsar, Kathua . The accident took place when a truck bearing Registration No JK05 E 9049 hit a scooty from rear and scooty was badly damaged . Both fell in pool of blood and were shifted to Hospital in serious condition. They are under treatment in the hospital. Kathua police has registered a case in this connection under relevant sections of the law.
Meanwhile, people of Kathua have expressed their grave concern over the increasing road accidents on Highway and termed it the failure of Traffic Police which is not initiating action against the rash driving and maintaining constant vigil at vulnerable spots on Highway. They said yesterday two youth were killed in town separate road mishaps and in both the cases drivers along with their vehicles fled while today also two persons were seriously injured in hit and run case which is a cause of concern for the people.
