AKHNOOR, Apr 4: Two youth sustained injuries in Akhnoor area here today after the bike they were travelling on was hit by a rashly driven dumper.
A police spokesperson said that a biker Rahul Sharma (18) son of Parshotam Sharma and his pillion rider Mohit Sharma (18) son of Puran Chand, both residents of Gasanu area were on their way to Akhnoor from Balle Da Bagh area when their bike was hit by a dumper at Pannu Chowk area, resulting in injuries to the duo.
Immediately they were taken to Sub-District Hospital Akhnoor where after preliminary treatment, the injured youth were shifted to Government Medical College Jammu for advanced treatment, he said.
Meanwhile, police have arrested the driver of the dumper identified as Pawan Kumar of Tallab Tillo Jammu and registered a case FIR number 58/2024 under the relevant sections of the law.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
