Two killed, 3 hurt in mishaps

JAMMU, Oct 16: Two persons were killed and three got injured in separate road accidents in city outskirts.
“In a hit and run case at Gandhi Nagar near Green Belt Park, a scooty rider and two pillion riders received serious injuries when a speeding load carrier hit his scooty this morning,” a police official said.
He said all the three injured persons were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where one of them identified as Ram Murti (54) son of Tara Chand, resident of Chatha, was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
“The other two injured were identified as Rattan Singh (40) son of Amar Singh, resident of Pacci Dhaki (Jammu) and Manish Anand (45) son of Dharampal, resident of Lakhar Mandi (Janipur). After postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while a case in this connection was registered at police station Gandhi Nagar,” the official added.
Meanwhile, a 50-year-old man namely Daya Ram son of Chanu Ram, resident of Bandu Rakh (Kunjwani), who was seriously injured on October 14 after an unknown vehicle hit his scooty near Railway Station Jammu, succumbed to his injuries at 10:45 am in GMCH Jammu, where he was under treatment.
