DODA, July 25: Two persons were killed while another two were injured when a car they were travelling in rolled down into a gorge in Bamoo area of Tehsil Kahara here today.
Driver of the ill fated car of Maruti 800 make bearing registration number JK06-6559 lost control over the vehicle when it reached near Bamoo and it rolled down into a 500 ft deep gorge.
Cops from Kahara Police Post immediately rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of locals and all the three injured persons were shifted to SDH Gandoh and later on one critical injured was shifted to GMC Doda.
Deceased persons were identified as Bilal Ahmed, son of Taj Din Malik, resident of Dharyari, Gandoh and he had died on the spot while other three persons Muzaffer Ahmed, son of Abdul Karim Khan, resident of Suara; Danish, son of Ajaj Ahmed Malik and Insha, daughter of Ajaj Ahmed Malik, resident of Dhossa were critically injured.
Muzaffer Ahmed was shifted to GMC Doda and other two were shifted to SDH Gandoh for treatment, where the injured Insha succumbed to her injuries at SDH Gandoh.
Police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, MoS PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh has tweeted: “Just now spoke to DC #Doda, Sh Vishesh Mahajan after receiving the news of an unfortunate road accident involving a private Maruti 800, at Thatri Gandoh near Bamoo, carrying four persons. 2 reported dead.”
