Two killed, as many injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Feb 17: Two people died and as many suffered injuries in separate road accidents in Jammu Province on Friday, police said.
A police spokesperson said that one Shubham (23) son of Joginder Lal of Dori Dagair, Akhnoor, was injured after the motorcycle he was riding on was hit by a tipper near his home.
“He was shifted to Government Medical College Jammu where doctors declared him as dead on arrival,” said the spokesperson.
He said that in another accident, one Ravan Kumar (50) son of Sita Ram of Rajbagh was injured in an accident near his home on February 8, this year, after he was hit by a truck.
“He was also shifted to GMC Jammu where he breathed his last today,” he said.
The police further spokesperson said that bodies of the deceased have been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem while cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered at concerned police stations and further investigations taken up.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured in an accident at Dhammi Nagrota area, after they were hit by a car today.
They were taken to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, where they are undergoing treatment.
Police have identified the injured mother-daughter duo as Babli Devi (40) and Roshani (14), both residents of Dhammi, Nagrota.
A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and further investigations taken up.
