JAMMU, June 3: Two persons including a school child were killed today in separate road accidents in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a 6-year-old school child was hit by a Wagon-R car bearing registration No JK02AD-4839 at Kunjwani Bypass road near Vishal Mega Mart, this afternoon. In the mishap, the boy who has been identified as Arun Verma son of Subhash Chander of Uttam Nagar, Gangyal, died on the spot. After conducting medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his family members for last rites.
Gangyal police has lodged a case in this connection and launched a manhunt to nab the accused car driver, who managed to flee from the spot after committing crime.
In another road mishap at Gura Pattan falling under the jurisdiction of police station Kanachak, a man identified as Sanjay Kumar (30) son of Mulkh Raj of Narayana (Akhnoor) was killed on the spot when the scooty (bearing registration No JK02BF-6474) he was going on was hit by an unknown vehicle in the wee hours of today.
The body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after completing all medico-legal formalities. A case in this regard has been registered at police station Kanachak and further investigations are on.
