JAMMU, Apr 18: Two persons died in separate road accidents in Jammu District today, police said.
One Ashwani Kumar (20) son of Vijay Kumar of Bhaderwah at present Paloura, was injured after the scooty he was riding on, was hit by a car near Shakuntala, they said.
“He was taken to Government Medical College Jammu where he was declared as dead on arrival,” said police.
Meanwhile, in another accident, one Surjit Kour (50) wife of Inderpal Singh of Camp Gole Gujral, suffered injuries after she was hit by a matador near her home.
She was also rushed to Government Medical College Jammu where doctors pronounced her as dead on arrival.
Police have shifted the bodies to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting post-mortems while cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered at concerned Police Station and further investigations taken up.
