KISHTWAR, Sept 20: Two persons, including a woman, were crushed to death in two separate road accidents occurred today in different parts of the district.
As per reports, a woman was crushed by a dumper near under-construction Kawad Hydroelectric Project due to which she died on the spot. The deceased woman was identified as Roshani Devi, wife of late Bansi Lal, resident of Nagasaini (Kishtwar). In this context, a case was registered in Police Station Kishtwar while the dumper involved in the accident was seized and its driver arrested.
The second accident took place on Sinthan Road near Vatsar where a pedestrian was allegedly hit by a passenger bus bearing registration number JK02AN-3647. In the mishap, the pedestrian suffered serious injuries. He was first rushed to PHC Chhatroo from where he was sent to District Hospital Kishtwar, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The deceased pedestrian was identified as Mohammed Salman, son of Ghafar Gujar, resident of Pelgawadi. Chhatroo Police had registered a case in this connection and started investigation whereas bus involved in the accident was seized and its driver arrested.
