SAMBA, Jan 19: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents occurred today in Vijaypur area.
According to the reports, the first accident happened on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway, in which a bike JK21E-3906 collided with an unknown vehicle at Devika Bridge around 10.30 AM. In the mishap, bike rider identified as Arun Kumar (22) son of Sohal Lal, resident of Nai Basti Supwal (Samba) was seriously injured. The local people took the injured to Vijaypur Emergency Hospital, where the doctors declared him as brought dead.
Another mishap occurred in the afternoon on National Highway at Vijaypur, where a 70-year-old woman pedestrian crossing the road was hit and seriously injured by a truck bearing registration number RJ43GA-2974. The injured woman identified as Mohinder Kour wife of late Santa Singh, resident of Koulpur (Ramgarh) was rushed to Vijaypur Emergency Hospital and after providing initial treatment, referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where she succumbed to her injuries at about 6:17 PM.
Vijaypur police had registered two separate cases in this regard and started investigation.
