Two killed, as many injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Oct 22: Two persons were killed and as many were injured today in separate road mishaps in city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a bike-borne man identified as Satnam Singh (50) son of Sujaan Singh, resident of Gadigarh, received serious injuries this morning when he lost control over his bike and it hit with a parapet near Asia Hotel in city outskirts.
“The injured man was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he expired at about 1.35 pm”, the spokesman said, adding, after completing all medico-legal formalities the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
In another mishap, a man identified as Omkar Nath (55) son of Neeranjan Nath Bhat, resident of Jagti Colony, was tonight killed on the spot when an unknown truck hit the scooty bearing registration No JK02BH-2761 on which he was travelling, at Sidhra area of city outskirts. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of GMC&H Jammu for post mortem.
Meanwhile, a pedestrian identified as Geeta Ram (52) son of Shanker Dass, resident of Shakti Nagar, was hit and injured by a scooty at Bakshi Nagar. A youth identified as Reshav Singh (22) son of Keshav Singh, resident of Gharota sustained injuries when the bike on which he was going on, got slipped at Akhnoor. Both the injured were shifted to GMC&H Jammu for treatment.
In all cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
