Two killed, seven injured in separate road accidents

JAMMU, Nov 10: Two persons including a 20-year-old youth were injured today in two separate road mishaps that occurred in Janipur area of city outskirts and Pamblwan area of Akhnoor teshil.
According to a police spokesperson, six passengers were injured, one of them seriously when the mini-bus bearing registration No JK02L-9467 they were travelling in overturned in Pamblwan area of Akhnoor. The mishap occurred today at about 11.30 am when the mini-bus was on its way from Akhnoor to Ambaran.
All the injured were immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital, Akhnoor, from where the seriously injured Noor Fatima (47) wife of Baag Hussain, a resident of Jandial (Gharota), was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where doctors declared her as brought dead. After postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.
The other injured passengers have been identified as Zia Bibi wife of Gami and Noorani son of Goriya, both residents of Gharota and Shoki Devi wife of Kapi Ram, Sardaro Devi wife of Chuni Lal and Jeeto Devi wife of Raju, trio residents of Baazigar Colony, Akhnoor.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station Akhnoor and further investigations are underway.
Another accident occurred during the intervening night of November 9 and 10 at Janipur area of city outskirts, where in a hit and run case, three bike borne youth were injured. As per sources, around midnight three youths were travelling on a bike bearing registration No JK02BF-0264, when an unknown car hit their two-wheeler and left them injured.
The injured youths were rushed to GMCH, where one of them was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The deceased has been identified as Sahil Kumar (20) son of Amar Singh, a resident of Paloura and the injured have been identified as Dheeraj (20) son of Manoj Kumar, a resident of Durga Nagar and Ankush (22) son of Moti Lal of Lower Roop Nagar.
After conducting medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased youth was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. Janipur police has registered a case in this connection and investigations are underway.
