Two LeT militants booked under PSA

Srinagar, Oct 9: Two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant associates were booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) by authorities in Bandipora district today.
Police said that two militant associates of LeT were detained under the PSA. They include Ishfaq Majeed Dar son of Abdul Majeed Dar alias Salahudin, resident of Saderkoot Bala in Bandipora district.
“He was a hard-core anti national element and was in touch with militants in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. He was given the task by his handlers across the border to mobilise the youth in Bandipora for recruiting them into LeT,” police said.
Police further said that he was also given the task to identify Police and CRPF Naka’s in Hajin area of Bandipora along with co-ordinates for carrying militant attacks in the area.
Police said that another person, Waseem Ahmad Malik alias Obaid alias Osama son of Abdul Gani Malik resident of Gundpora Rampora was also in touch with PoK based militant Hashir Parray whose module was recently busted by Bandipora police and was establishing new associates in Bandipora town and adjacent areas and was working on to lure youth of Bandipora towards militant sympathisers and to establish militant sleeper cells in Bandipora district.
“Keeping in view their tendencies towards mobilising the youth militancy activities and to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in Bandipora district, both of them were detained under PSA,” police said.
