JAMMU, Aug 6: Two matadors were seized for overloading in Akhnoor area here today.
A police official said that acting on specific information about negligent driving by two matador drivers, two overloaded vehicles-JK02U-9521 and JK02T-70419-were seized.
The vehicles were on their way to Mawa area from Akhnoor, he said.
Accordingly, the drivers of the vehicles identified as Sakinder Manhota of Narayan, Khour and Nittu Kumar of Mawa Brahamana, Akhnoor, were arrested and booked in case FIR number 144/2024 under sections 281/125 BNS, 194 MV Act registered at Police Station Akhnoor.
Meanwhile, in a statement, police have advised people not to board public transport beyond capacity and also warned the drivers and owners of dire consequences for traffic violations.
