RAMBAN, Aug 2: Two minor girls were when a hydra crane fell on them killed at Dhalwas on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, here today evening.
As per police sources, a hydra crane bearing registration number JK02BT-7901 was on its way to Dhalwas from Nashri when the driver namely Sanjeev Kumar, son of Tarlok Chand of Pathankot Punjab lost control over the vehicle and it fell on two minor girls, who were standing roadside at Dhalwas. The driver was driving the vehicle in rash and negligent manner.
In the incident, a girl identified as Laxmi (10), daughter of Bittu of Dhalwas died on the spot, while another girl namely Sunita (5), daughter of Naresh Kumar of Dhalwas received grievous injuries and was rushed to District Hospital Ramban, where she failed to respond to the treatment and breathed her last.
A case under FIR Number 66/19 under section 279, 337 and 304-A RPC has been registered at Chanderkote Police Station and hunt has been launched to nab the driver, who managed to escape from the spot.
