Two more test positive for Dengue, figure reaches 90

JAMMU, Oct 17: With two more people today testing positive for Dengue virus, the total number of patients affected with this vector-borne disease in Jammu region has reached 90.
According Dr BS Pathania, Director, Health Services Jammu, a total of 11 tests were conducted today for Dengue out of which two turned out to be positive. He said both affected persons are male (one child and one adult).
Giving more details, Dr Pathania said that till today the department conducted 531 tests for Dengue out of which 90 were found to be positive for Dengue virus. He said that among the 90 infected persons, 51 belonged to Jammu, 21 from Kathua, four each from Reasi and Samba, three belonged to Udhampur, two each to Rajouri and Doda and one each from Ramban, Kishtwar and Poonch districts.
“However, none among the infected patients was found to be critical”, he said adding majority of them were sent to their respective homes after successful treatment and only few of them are under treatment at separate hospitals.
