RAMBAN, Mar 10: Jawahar Tunnel police arrested two narcotic smugglers along with large quantity of charas.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Post Jawahar Tunnel laid a naka and intercepted a Jammu bound Xylo car bearing registration number JK02AX- 3404.
During checking, police recovered 1.50 kilograms charas and arrested the driver and his associate.
The accused have been identified as Deepak Sharma (driver), son of Puran Chand of Upper Beli Charana, District Jammu and Irshad Ahmed Bhatt, son of Ghulam Ahmed Bhat of Arihal Tehsil, District Pulwama.
A case under FIR Number 27/16 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused at Police Post Jawahar Tunnel and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Jawahar Tunnel Police Post SI Mohammad Irfan Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Banihal Police Station Inspector Nazir Ahmed, SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
