KISHTWAR, May 19: Police here today arrested two notorious narcotic smugglers from Old Wine Shop area of Bus Stand and recovered 11.50 gm heroin like substance from their possession.
SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal said that Kishtwar Police developed specific information after which a special Naka was established near Old Wine Shop in Bus Stand area and it was led by Inspector Abid Bukhari, SHO Kishtwar under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs, Ashish Gupta.
While checking vehicles and pedestrians the Naka party noticed two pedestrians trying to escape from the spot but the cops overpowered them.
During their search Heroine (Chitta) like substance weighing about 11.50 gm was recovered and they were arrested.
In this regard a case in FIR No. 111/2023 Under Section 8/20/21/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation taken up.
The arrested persons were identified as Altaf Hussain, son of Ab Qayoom Malik, resident of Ludu Kansar Gandoh in Doda and Arbaz Sheikh, son of Fareed Ahmed Sheikh, resident of Hidyal Kishtwar.
