Two new cases of Dengue, total figure reaches 21

JAMMU, Sept 29: With two new cases of Dengue today surfacing in Kathua district the total number of patients affected with this vector-borne disease in Jammu region has reached to 21.
According to Dr BS Pathania, Director Health Jammu, a 40-year old man and a middle aged woman from Kathua district have been found positive for Dengue virus. He said about two days ago both the patients with Dengue symptoms reached the District Hospital Kathua, where their blood samples were tested and they were found to be positive for Dengue virus.
“However, after successful treatment in the hospital they were discharged today”, Dr Pathania added.
With these two cases, he said the total number of patients affected with Dengue in Jammu region has reached to 21.
Yesterday, a 40-year old lady and a 15 year old boy belonging to Jammu district were found to be affected with Dengue after their blood samples were tested in Micro-Biology lab of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
