Two notorious thieves arrested, stolen vehicles recovered

JAMMU, Mar 10: Janipur police arrested two notorious thieves and recovered stolen vehicles from their possession.
As per police sources, on February 22, a complaint was lodged by Shashi Pal, son of Baldev Dass of Mast Garh Jammu with police station Janipur stating that his scooty bearing registration number JK02BJ-6065 has been stolen by some unidentified persons.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 22/16 under Section 379 RPC was registered and investigation started.
Meanwhile, on February 28, Lakhbir Singh, son of Late Jagat Singh of Greater Kailash also lodged a complaint with police station Janipur stating that some unidentified thieves had stolen his Pulsar 220 motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AU-2748 from Court Complex, Janipur. In this regard, a case under FIR Number 23/16 under Section 379 RPC was registered and manhunt was launched to nab the thieves.
During routine naka checking, two persons riding on a motorcycle coming from Amphalla towards Janipur after seeing the cops tried to escape but were apprehended by the cops.
When asked to produce documents of the bike, they failed and were arrested. During questioning, both stolen vehicles (motorcycle and scooty) were recovered on their disclosure. Both the accused are involved in several cases registered with different police stations.
Further investigation is going on.
The arrest was made by SHO Janipur Inspector Ranbir Singh Bhau under the supervision of SDPO West Sugandha Mahajan and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
