Srinagar, June 29: Two Pakistani soldiers were killed as the Army deployed at the forward posts in Uri sector of North Kashmir sniped them after they noticed suspicious movement near the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) early today.
Sources said that the Army deployed along the LoC in Uri sector noticed suspicious movement near the LoC early today and targeted two soldiers with snipers killing them on the spot.
Sources identified the two soldiers as Qamar and Hafiz belonging to 652 Mujahid Battalion of the Pakistan army. They were posted near the Sallan village of PoK. The Pakistani troops later targeted Indian posts. However, no damage was caused.
And a day after four Kupwara minors attempt to cross over PoK was foiled, police today said that a 14-year old student of Bandipora was intercepted enroute to PoK for arms training.

Police said that Mohammad Qadeer Lone, 14, son of Fayaz Ahmad Lone, resident of Naidkhai Sumbal in Bandipora district, who is a class 8th student of Eagle English Medium Public School Bomai Sopore, was intercepted by police naka party in Uri area of Baramulla district. On enquiry it was found that he wanted to cross LoC to get arms training in PoK. He was counselled and handed over to parents.
Meanwhile, security forces continued its cordon and search operations in Srinagar today to track down the militants believed to be present in Srinagar. Sources said that the security forces launched searches in Wanganpora Eidgah and Mochwa in Bagh-e-Mehtab area of Srinagar. However, no one was arrested.
Meanwhile, according to the District Magistrate (Deputy Commissioner) Srinagar, restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC will remain in force under the jurisdictions of Police Stations Nowhatta, M R Gunj, Rainawari, Khanyar and Safakadal in district Srinagar on June 30 (Friday) as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident. The restrictions were imposed as separatists have called for protests against US declaring United Jehad Council chairman, Salahudin, as international terrorist.
