JAMMU, Nov 17: Two pedestrians were knocked to death by speedy vehicles in Narwal and Satwari areas of the winter capital.
As per reports, 40 year-old Ganesh Pradhan, son of Vipin Pradhan, resident of Orrissa, presently working as labourer in Narwal was crossing the road when a speedy truck hit him near Narwal.
He was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The body has been handed over to legal heirs for last rites after completing legal formalities.
Police has seized the vehicle, arrested the truck driver and registered a case under relevant Sections and investigation started.
Meanwhile, an unknown pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by an unknown vehicle in Satwari.
He was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
The body has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for identification.
A case has been registered and manhunt has been launched to arrest the driver, who fled from the spot along with the vehicle.
