Two PHE employees among 10 gamblers held

JAMMU, Jan 14: Police today arrested 10 gamblers including two PHE employees from Manda and Dogra Hall areas, falling under the jurisdiction of Pacca Danga police station.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police team from Pacca Danga police station conducted a raid at PHE Point Manda and nabbed three gamblers including two PHE employees.
The gamblers have been identified as Raj Kumar, son of Puran Chand of Talab Tillo and Amit, son of Anchal Chand of Manda, both PHE employees and Ramesh Kumar, son of Shanker Dass of Jhajjar Kotli, he added.
“Rs 8,760 stake money and playing card were recovered from the spot”, he maintained.
A case under Gambling Act has been registered at Pacca Danga police station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, police party from Pacca Danga police station also conducted a raid at Dogra Hall and arrested seven gamblers.
“Rs 15,680 bet money and playing cards were recovered from the spot”, he added.
The accused have been identified as Ramesh Singh, son of Kartar Singh of Roop Nagar, Kapil Sharma, son of Kamal Sharma of Bakshi Nagar, Sahil, son of Kishore Kumar of Dogra Hall, Danish Gandotra, son of Naresh Gandotra of Bakshi Nagar, Jatin Soodan, son of Vikas Soodan of Reshamgarh, Amit Singh, son of Rattan Singh of Panjtirthi and Shubam Gill, son of Pawan Kumar of Dogra Hall.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Pacca Danga police station and investigation started.
Police teams headed by SHO Mahesh Sharma, SI Sumit Sharma and SI Rajesh Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SP City Yougal Manhas.
