KISHTWAR, Oct 17: Two residential houses along with household items worth lakhs were gutted in two different fire incidents here in last 24 hours.
As per reports last night in a fire incident at Hunjalla area falling under Police Station Kishtwar one residential house of Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Lassa Butt, resident of Hunjalla was gutted.
Though with the help of locals, Police, personnel of Fire and Emergency Services, Army, CRPF and Red Cross volunteers the fire was brought under control but by then besides heavy damage to the building, household items had also suffered heavy damage in the blaze.
Meanwhile, in another such incident house of one Prehlad Singh, son of Natha Ram, resident of Lower Thumb Ishtiyari Padder was gutted.
As the area lacks road connectivity locals with limited resources doused the flames after hectic efforts but could not save the structure and household items from destruction.
However there was no life loss reported in these incidents.
