SRINAGAR, Nov 26: Two band-saw mills and two residential houses were gutted in separate fire incidents in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday, officials said.
According to Fire and Emergency officials on Tuesday, a fire broke out in a residential house in the Barsoo area of Awantipora around midnight. The blaze quickly spread to two nearby band-saw mills, causing significant property damage.
In the incident, a residential house, along with two band-saw mills belonging to A R Enterprise and Khanday Enterprise, was damaged. Additionally, two wood planers and an unspecified quantity of wooden logs were destroyed in the fire.
After getting information, several fire tenders rushed to the spot from Awantipora and Pampore fire stations to extinguish the leaping flames.
The cause of fire is being ascertained, the officials said and added no one was injured in the incident.
In another fire incident, a two storeyed residential house was gutted at Kakapora Hatiwara. The cause of the fire is stated to be due to an electric short circuit, they said. (Agencies)
