Two shepherd brothers found dead in pond

DODA, Oct 20: Two shepherd brothers were found dead in pond in Merund Dhar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Post Changa.
As per police sources, an information was received at Police Post Changa that two shepherds namely Abdul Rashid (60) and Abdul Latied, sons of Ghulam Mohammed Malik of Thaloran went to scour there sheep in nearby pond at Merund Dhar area and didn’t report back to home.
Acting over the information, a hunt was launched to trace out the missing shepherds.
Today, police team along with locals fished out the bodies of the missing shepherds from the pond in Merund Dhar area. It is assumed that both the shepherds died due to drowning as their clothes and sheep were found adjacent to the pond.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
However, Changa Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
