Two smugglers held, 11 bovines rescued

RAMBAN, Feb 24: Police today arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued 11 animals from their clutches.
“During a naka checking near Shan Palace, police intercepted two vehicles (Tata Mobiles) and on checking found 11 bovine animals loaded on them,” a police official said adding both the vehicles seized and all the bovine animals rescued.
The official said drivers of both the vehicles identified as Manzoor Ahmed son of Abdul Gani, resident of Parnote and Sahil Mughal son of Mohd Ahmed, resident of Tatarso (Ramban) were taken into custody as they during questioning they admitted that they were trying to smuggle the bovines to Kashmir without permission from the concerned authorities.
In this connection, a case FIR No 36/19 and 37/19 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PC Act was registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation taken up. The arrest was made by a police party led by SHO Ramban Inspector Vijay Kotwal under supervision of Deputy SP HQ Ramban Asgar Malik under close supervision of Additional SP Sanjay Parihar.
