Two smugglers held, 4 bovines rescued

KISHTWAR, May 18: Police here today successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt and arrested two smugglers after rescuing four bovines from them at Chatroo area.
On a specific tip-off, cops from Chatroo led by SHO Police Station Chatroo, Inspector Vikram Singh laid a Naka at Kamrazi Morh, Chatroo and stopped a vehicle of Intra Pickup make load carrier bearing registration number JK03L-8270 for checking.
Upon checking the vehicle cops found four bovines loaded without any valid permission.
The animals were immediately rescued and animal smugglers were arrests on the spot.
The arrested persons were Zaffer Ahmed Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmed Bhat and Sabzar Ahmed Bhat, son of Wali Mohd Bhat, both residents of Larnoo, District Anantnag.
In this regard a case in FIR No. 24/2024 under relevant Sections of law was registered at Police Station Chatroo and investigation started.
