Two snatchers held: Police

SAMBA, Mar 22: In a swift response to a snatching incident, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in Samba district have arrested two individuals and recovered the stolen money from their possession within 24 hours.
A police official said that an incident unfolded on March 19, wherein one Laxman, a cook at a fast food shop in Gagore, Vijaypur, was threatened with a sharp edge weapon by three assailants.
According to him, the culprits snatched Rs 3000 and a mobile phone from the victim before fleeing the scene.
He said, acting quickly on the complaint lodged by Laxman, a case under the relevant sections of the law was registered at Police Station Vijaypur and the investigating team arrested two accused identified as Sandeep Kumar alias Gori and Nikhil Kohli alias Kuku within a day. The stolen money and a sharp edged weapon (toka) was also seized from their possession, he said.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway as police are working to identify the third assailant involved in the crime.
The arrests were made under the supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
