Two snatchers nabbed, stolen items recovered

JAMMU, Dec 1: Police team from Nowabad police station and Talab Tillo police post jointly nabbed two snatchers and recovered stolen items including motorcycle, mobile phone and cash from their possession.
As per police sources, a purse was snatched from a lady on November 28 at Tirth Nagar, Talab Tillo. The lady lodged complaint with police and a case under FIR Number 156/15 under Section 382 RPC was registered and manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
During the course of investigation, police rounded up several persons, among which two persons broke down and confessed to commit the crime.
The accused have been identified as Ashwani Sharma, son of Bodh Raj of Karloop Marh and Rakesh Kumar, son of Dev Raj of Udhaywalla.
On their disclosure, police recovered mobile phone and Rs 6000 cash, which were in the purse, which they snatched from the lady on November 28.
Apart from this, police also recovered one motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BC-1171 from their possession and also worked out another theft case registered under FIR Number 345/15 under Section 379 RPC with police station Domana.
With the arrest of the accused, police solved two theft cases registered with Nowabad and Domana police stations.
Further questioning of the accused is going on and some more recoveries are likely to be made in near future.
Police team headed by SHO Nowabad police station Inspector Ravinder Rakwal and Incharge Talab Tillo police post SI Sumit Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City West Vivek Shekhar, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
