While no injuries have been reported in the incident efforts are underway to control the fire with the assistance of four fire tenders. The underground fuel tanks at the petrol pump remain unharmed, averting potential greater losses if they had caught fire.
Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene, initiating necessary actions. Nearby villagers also gathered as flames illuminated the sky. Despite initial attempts by two fire tenders from Samba and Hiranagar, additional support was called in.
Finally, the fire fighters employed chemicals in their efforts to control the blaze.
Tarun Gupta, the petrol pump owner from Jammu, mentioned being on-site when the fire erupted during the fuel-emptying process from a tanker.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and public representatives, including DSP Bhisham Dubey and Rajpura Police Chowki Officer, were present at the scene when the last report poured in.
